Local bands compete in Harper's Ferry blues finals

   For 15 years Harper's Ferry has held it's annual Battle of the Blues Bands contest. The last band to perform, The Part Time Lovers, won first place. The band played an energetic set of Chicago blues and R&B. They will be representing Boston in the National Blues Contest in Memphis, Tenn.
Having played together for more than five years, the band plays on stage with a musical unity. With their funky,up-tempo set, the band won the competition thanks to their energetic performance.
"The band works through the interaction of every player. Their is a constant conversation going on all the time, and I think the audience appreciates that," said Kelley, the drummer and band leader. "We are very excited about having won. This is an ecstatic moment. It is an honor and a privilege to represent Boston in Memphis. We will put as much energy as possible into the performance and give 110% on stage."
