For 15 years Harper's Ferry in Allston has run a Battle of the Blues Band contest. This years winner, The Part Time Lovers, who beat out 4 other acts, are headed to the national finals competition in Memphis.
The Part Time Lovers scored with cosmopolitan blues augmented by a turn on a dime horn section. The group opened with B.B. Kings"Everyday I Have the Blues" and pumped ahead with unwavering energy, swaying a panel of five media judges.
As winners, the Part Time Lovers took home $1000.00 cash, 10 hours of recording time at Kissy Pig studio, a $500.00 photo shoot and that coveted place in the national finals.
